A Golden Autumn Maternity Session at The Field
Soft light, flowing dresses and a little Jane Austen magic
There is something about early autumn at The Field that feels almost timeless. The long grass turns golden, the air softens after summer and the light before sunset wraps everything in the dreamiest warm glow. It is one of my favourite seasons for maternity sessions because every little movement feels gentle and romantic.
This beautiful maternity session felt like stepping into a scene from a Jane Austen novel. Flowing dresses drifting through the grass, quiet moments between two people waiting for their baby and that golden Adelaide light filtering through the trees. It was soft, elegant and full of the kind of emotion that does not need to be forced.
The Field is one of my favourite locations for maternity photography near Adelaide because it changes beautifully through the seasons while always keeping that relaxed, natural feeling. In early autumn the dry grass and golden tones create the perfect backdrop for soft neutral styling and sunset sessions that feel warm and intimate.
One of the things I loved most about this session was how effortless it all felt. There was no pressure to pose perfectly or perform for the camera. Just slow walks through the field, quiet connection and moments that unfolded naturally. Those are always the photographs that end up meaning the most.
The soft white dress from my client wardrobe suited the setting perfectly and added to the romantic, countryside feel of the session. Flowy fabrics and earthy tones always photograph beautifully at The Field, especially during golden hour when the light catches every little movement.
