Like many Gen Xers, my love of photography began in a darkroom. Mine was set up in the laundry, where I’d spend hours watching images come to life beneath the soft red light. That quiet magic captured me from the start.
I began my career photographing weddings, drawn to the beauty and emotion of love stories at their beginning. During that time I studied at The Centre for Creative Photography, earning my Certificate IV in Photo Imaging and deepening my ability to see and feel stories through my lens.
When my baby girl arrived in 2009, everything shifted. Capturing her became my greatest joy, and I realised how fleeting and precious those early moments are. That is what I now strive to give the families I photograph — the chance to hold onto the tiny details and emotions that time so quickly carries away.
I often tell my families, “You don’t need these photos today. You’ll need them in the years ahead.” When your baby starts school, when they grow into teenagers, when you want to remember them exactly as they are now.
For more than a decade I’ve been photographing babies and families, but in truth, I’ve always been a photographer at heart — always chasing light, love, and the stories that live between them.
Just 25 minutes from Adelaide’s CBD, my cozy home studio in the leafy suburb of Hawthorndene is a peaceful little haven surrounded by nature. Designed with newborns and families in mind, it’s a space where time slows down, light feels soft, and you can simply relax while I capture the wonder of these fleeting early days.
The studio is thoughtfully stocked with everything you might need – shelves of delicate headbands, hand-knitted wraps, timeless props, and cozy knits – ready to style your session with ease. Every detail has been chosen to create a warm, welcoming environment, so you can focus on cuddles and connection while I preserve your baby’s story, wrapped in light and love.
I'm a mother to a baby girl (my biggest achievement!) - just the one bub for me - My bestie for life!
I've been married to my hubby since 2002 and of course we spent most of the wedding budget on photography.
I'm a Canon camera girl.
I have 2 cats, Dexter who is 8 and Nala who we got just before the Covid lockdowns in 2020. She was a great distraction.
My favourite smell is fresh tennis balls and of course coffee!
Shockingly I dont have a favourite colour. I love them all in one shade or another.
Like all good Australians my favourite desert is Pav but I won't say no to a good Ice cream or Galati.
My proudest career achievement was ranking #2 in the world for newborn photography by feedspot - beating some of my idols.
My favourite season is Autumn! You cant beat that light.
If I'm not taking pictures or hanging out with the family I'm probably knitting or sewing. I love to create things.
I love all things Sci-fi and Fantasy and I love a good conspiracy.
"Thank you endlessly for capturing these PRECIOUS MOMENTS Megan! You’re so talented; your colour schemes, BEAUTIFUL (handmade!) baby outfits and backdrops/locations are always perfect. You’re actually MAGIC, you can’t convince me otherwise"
