I was so happy when Georgia’s mum Em Jaye asked me to use bold colours during Georgia’s Adelaide newborn photography session. I hardly get asked to use bold colours but I just love them! I’m pretty sure Georgia was happy with them because she gave me a few cute smiles during the session. Em Jaye and her partner are both musicians so they brought a guitar into the studio for me to use and also a Piti (wooden baby carrier from the APY lands) because Georgia has Aboriginal heritage. After the session I asked Em Jaye, some questions about Georgia’s birth and her newborn photo session…
I had planned to go out for cocktails with friends to celebrate the feast festival and pride march. I wasn’t feeling well the night before. I ended up drinking mock-tails at the festival so my friends wouldn’t get suspicious.
We sent all of our friends and family a photo of three Christmas stockings hanging on our mantle.
I couldn’t get enough milkshakes
Our girl was camera shy. We had 6 ultrasound scans but didn’t know until the doctors placed her in our arms. She was a fantastic surprise.
The song Georgia on my mind is one of our favourites. It is also a nod to her twin uncles with the middle names George and Louis.
The Lyell McEwin hospital.
Her grumpy little frown when she finally entered the world and the proud look on my husbands face when he first held his daughter.
We will be having a whiskey made and barrelled this year to open on her 18th birthday.

How peacefully Georgia slept and how comfortable we all felt in Megan’s studio.
Our first family portraits.
We wanted to freeze this moment in time. Our first baby, our first days as parents, her first days on this earth.
Megan’s work speaks for itself.
She is so professional and easily my favourite newborn photographer in Adelaide. We are very lucky she chose to work with us and make our baby look so beautiful.
It was a very positive experience. I recommend Megan to everyone and will continue to do so. We hope to visit Megan’s studio every time our family grows
