There is a quiet magic that settles in once your baby can sit.

This session felt extra meaningful because I first photographed Baby Tyrone as a newborn. To see him again now, sitting confidently with wide eyes and the sweetest expressions, was a quiet reminder of how quickly this season moves. One moment they are curled and sleepy in your arms, and before you know it, they are sitting tall, taking in the world around them.

This has always been one of my favourite ages to photograph, and it is deeply personal for me. It was also my favourite stage with my own daughter. This is the age where their personality truly starts to shine. The smiles become intentional. The little looks feel knowing. You start to see who they are becoming, not just how tiny they once were.

The sitting stage is beautifully balanced. Your baby is steady and confident, yet still close and deeply connected to you. They can explore, laugh, and engage, but they are still comforted by your arms and your presence. It creates space for calm, connected moments without the rush that comes once they are on the move.

Photographing this session among the rolling hills and soft grass of Adelaide allowed everything to slow down. Warm light, gentle movement, bare feet, and a sense of ease. These sessions are not about posing. They are about connection, presence, and capturing your family exactly as you are in this fleeting season.

And this is where I gently encourage parents to step into the frame.

These images are not just for you. They are for your child one day. They will look for the way you held them, the way you smiled at them, the way they fit perfectly into your arms at this stage of life. You belong in these memories just as much as they do.

If your baby is sitting, this is such a beautiful time to be photographed. It is a short chapter filled with personality, connection, and heart. One that deserves to be remembered.
